One calm parent app to keep your child's device healthy — message safety alerts from an Android phone, app limits and a bedtime window, a screen-time report, one-tap blocks, earn-time tasks, and calls and chat that always work. Here's the full picture, including the bits each platform won't let any app do.
App limits by category
Allow or block whole categories at once — Social, Games, Video, Entertainment, Web, and Messaging. One quick setup on their device tells Safeinest which apps count as what. You can also give a single app its own daily budget ('1 hour of TikTok') — on Android by name, on an iPhone through Apple's own picker — set per-category limits, and give the whole day a screen-time allowance.
Bedtime lock
Set the hours apps should rest, for example 9 PM to 7 AM. Our server rings the child's device at each edge on its own clock, so bedtime normally starts and ends within a minute or two — and we say the small print plainly: that ring is a best-effort push, and the kids app checks every 15 seconds while open. On an iPhone, a Screen Time passcode is what makes it tamper-proof.
Block now
Pause the apps you cover in one tap, usually within seconds. If their phone is off, offline or the app was force-quit, the pause lands the moment it’s back in touch.
School hours
Choose which kinds of apps pause on school days, and on which days. Like bedtime, the edges ring on our server's alarm, and their device applies it whenever Safeinest Connect runs.
Focus presets
Homework, Dinner or Sleep — one tap starts a timed session, usually within seconds. When the time is up, the apps come back as soon as their phone checks in again.
Timed block
Pause apps for 30 minutes, 1, 2 or 5 hours. The pause lifts when their phone next checks in after the timer ends, so a timer can run a little long, never short.
Extra time, on request
Your child asks for more minutes and says why; one tap approves it, and every limit lifts for exactly that long. Or set it up as earn-time tasks: write a chore and its reward, they tap 'I did it', you approve, and the minutes become real free time.
Message your child
A calm two-way family chat, with a notification on both phones. It keeps working even when everything else is paused, so your child can always reach you — and you them.
Voice calls
Call your child from inside Safeinest, and they can call you — with a proper ringing screen on both phones. Calls go directly between the two phones, encrypted end to end. We never record them, and we keep no call history.
Family SOS
One button on your child’s phone alerts every parent phone straight away and leaves a permanent line in the family chat, so it isn’t lost if a notification is missed. It calls your family, not the emergency services.
Live location
Switch it on for a child and see where their phone is, how fresh the position is and how accurate, with an “Open in Maps” button. Off by default, the child’s phone asks permission once, and we keep only the latest position — no history of where they’ve been, unless you also switch on the optional 24-hour trail, which keeps at most one day and deletes itself as it ages.
Safe zones and no-go areas
Draw a circle around school, home or a grandparent’s house and get a message when your child arrives or leaves. Or mark a place as a NO-GO AREA — somewhere they should not be — and you are told the moment they enter it. No-go circles draw red on the map. Both need live location switched on for that child.

Apps like Phone and Maps keep working through a block. Chosen on your child’s phone — and if that list grows, we tell you.
Tamper alerts
We tell you if Screen Time is switched off, if the covered-app list shrinks, if more apps are set to always-allowed, if a phone is disconnected or asks to remove the app, or if a phone has gone quiet for two days.
Lock app removal (honest)
On Android your child can agree to a real removal lock: uninstalling Safeinest then first needs the lock switched off in Settings — a deliberate, visible step — and you are told the moment that happens. On iPhone no app can stop its own deletion; a Screen Time passcode you set is what truly prevents it, and we tell you exactly how. On both, the child sees a 'please ask first' message and the Disconnect button hides while the lock is on.
Device status at a glance
See each paired device in the Devices tab — when it last checked in, whether protection is still on, how many apps are covered, and on Android today's screen time with their top apps (7 days a tap away). Every figure is what their device last reported, so you can see how fresh it is.
Three ways to sign in
Create your parent account with an email code or password, with Sign in with Google, or with the more private Sign in with Apple — which works on Android phones too, through Apple's own web sign-in.
Platform-honest enforcement
On an iPhone, limits are enforced by Apple's own Screen Time (Family Controls) — no risky workarounds. On Android, Safeinest draws its own calm pause screen, with permissions the child grants knowingly. Either way, what we cannot do, we say.

Message safety alerts (Android)
With your child's agreement, their Android phone checks arriving messages on the device for signs of self-harm, bullying and sexual content. You get the child, the category, how serious, the app, and a few redacted words with UK helplines — never the conversation, and the full message never leaves their phone. English-only detection for now; an iPhone can never provide this, and we say so.
On your wrist: the Apple Watch app
A parent with an iPhone gets Safeinest on their own Apple Watch — install it from the iPhone's Watch app and every child is one glance away: a coloured dot, Blocked or Not blocked, and one big Block/Unblock button. Made for the moments your phone is out of reach, like driving. And the honest line: no app can manage a child's own Apple Watch — only Apple's Screen Time reaches one — so the Limits tab walks you through Apple's four steps to quiet their watch when you block their phone.
The Safeinest Browser
Inside the kids app lives a simple browser that plays fair with everyone: SafeSearch is always on, the sites you block are refused with a calm page that says you blocked them, and you see the full history — while the browser tells your child, right under its address bar, that you can see it. Nothing secret. History deletes itself after 30 days. The honest edges: it only sees itself — pages opened inside other apps’ built-in browsers are invisible to any parental app — and blocking the Web category in Limits is what makes it the only door.
And the things no app can honestly promise
We would rather you knew these before you install than after you trust them.
- Read an iPhone child's messages, browsing or photos. Apple does not allow it, and we do not try — anyone claiming otherwise is misleading you. On Android, message safety reads arriving notifications only, with your child's agreement: a muted app, or what your child types out, shows nothing.
- Show an iPhone's per-app hours. Apple keeps those figures on the child's own device. The screen-time report is real on Android — today's total, top apps, 7 days — and honestly absent for most iPhone children — Apple opens those figures only where the child's Apple Account region is in the EU, on iOS 26.4 or newer, and there Safeinest shows them too.
- Guarantee a bedtime lands on the dot. The server rings the device at each edge on its own clock — normally within a minute or two — but that ring is a silent push which can be delayed or dropped, and the one guarantee is the kids app checking every 15 seconds while open. If a bedtime looks late, opening the kids app once applies it.
- Make removal impossible. No platform gives any app that power. Android's removal lock makes uninstalling a deliberate, visible step you hear about; an iPhone's Screen Time passcode genuinely prevents deletion; and if Safeinest Connect is ever removed, we tell you the device has gone quiet.
- Watch silently. Nothing here runs in secret: every switch that touches the child is visible on their own screen, message safety is consented to by the child and shows its state openly, calls are never recorded, and live location keeps only the latest position unless you switch the 24-hour trail on — which deletes itself as it ages.
